Happy Valentine’s Day!

 

Throughout the month of February, Playday will incorporate Valentine’s Day in its classes and we are not just talking about the heart decorations on our walls.

 

2月の間ずっと、プレイデイでは授業中に、バレンタインデーを取り入れ、壁のデコレーションのハートの話だけをしたわけではありません!

 

For our mom and tots classes, we created fun games with colored heart cards that students can match. We also sing the well-known American childrens’ song, “Skidamarink.” “Skidamarink” has no meaning; it is a silly word. The lyrics include “I love you” and provides a positive way for mother and child to bond as they sing the song with gesture.

 

mom&totsのクラスでは、生徒さんたちが色つきのハートのカードを使ってマッチできるような楽しいゲームを作りました。また、よく知られているアメリカの子どもの歌“Skidamarink”の歌も歌いました。“Skidamarink”には意味はありません。ただのおかしな言葉なんです。歌詞の中に“I love you”の言葉が含まれているので、ジェスチャーをしながらその歌を歌う時のように、お母さんと子どもさんたちにとってはお互いを結びつける積極的な方法を与えます。

 

Older students learn to use the word “love” in different sentence patterns and play some heart card games as well.

 

高学年の生徒さんたちは、異なった文章パターンで“love”の使い方を学習し、また、ハートカードゲームなどもしています。

 

Even though Valentine’s Day may be portrayed as a romantic holiday for couples, Playday uses the holiday to express love for family, friends, hobbies and even food.

 

バレンタインデーはカップルたちにはロマンチックな日として考えられていますが、プレイデイでは、バレンタインの日を家族や友達、趣味そして食べ物にさえも大好きな気持ちを表す日として利用しています。
