Learning through repetition
In order to learn a new language, repetition is important.
新しい語彙を学ぶためには、繰り返しが大事です。
Repetition can be repeating a word or sentence after the teacher says it. It can be asking and answering the same questions in a song or game. It can also be writing practice and having conversations.
レピティションは、先生が単語や文章を言った後、それを繰り返すことです。歌やゲームで、同じ質問をしたり、答えたりするのもレピティションと言えます。また、ライティングの練習や会話もです。
Playday does all of the above especially when it comes to learning phonics. From toddlers to second graders, we use our alphabet poster to do our phonics chant every class period.
プレイデイでは、特にフォニックスを学習する時には、上記の事を全て行っています。幼児から２年生までは、それぞれのクラスで、プレイデイのフォニックスチャントをするために、アルファベットのポスターを使っています。
The weekly repetition of the chant sometimes with gestures helps the students remember the letters and phonics so they can eventually read and write.
毎週のチャントのレピティションは時々ジェスチャーをすると生徒が文字やフォニックスを覚えるのに役にたちます。そして将来的に読み書きができるようになるのです。
If you have been to Playday, you know that our teachers ask the students a question or two before they can enter the classroom.
プレイデイに来られたことのある方は、生徒が教室に入る前に、先生が生徒に１つ、２つ質問をしているのをご存知かと思います。
For the toddlers, teachers ask, “How are you?” and “What’s your name?” In addition to those questions, the teachers may ask the older students: “How old are you?”, How’s the weather?”, “What day is it today?”, and “When is your birthday?”
幼児には、先生が“How are you?”や“What’s your name?”と尋ねます。それらの質問に加え、先生は、高学年の生徒には“How old are you?”、“How’s the weather?”、“What day is it today?”や“When is your birthday?”などの質問をしています。
These are all easy, frequently asked questions in English that are good to know.
それらは全て簡単で、英語ですらすらと質問できる、知っておくとよい質問です。

We use many forms of repetition in conversations, songs, chants, writing and games to help the students learn and have fun at the same time.
